About the teacher
My name is Emily Crotwell, and this is my 3rd year to teach at Bettye Mae Jack Middle School. I am a Morton alumni and am happy to be teaching at my alma mater. As a resident of this town, I care deeply about our school's reputation, progress, and overall academic achievement.
I am the 6th grade inclusion teacher. I help students with various disabilities to function well in the general education curriculum. I tutor each of my students in a tutorial period, and my assistant, Ms. Yates, goes into the classroom to help them with their independent work. I try to teach my students with games and hands on activities to make the curriculum more exciting and accessible to all of my students.
I am also an assistant coach on the slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball teams. I enjoy the time I get to spend with the young ladies on the team and learning about life and sports with them. I also sponsor the middle school portion of the yearbook. I enjoy being involved in extra curricular activities that help improve our school.
