INTRO:

My name is Nikole Hilson, and I’m thrilled to have your child in my classroom. We are going to have a great year together!

MY CHILDHOOD:

I was raised on a chicken farm outside of Morton around Cooperville, MS. My grandmother, Omega Morris, owned Kracker Station in Morton. I attended East Rankin Academy from K-12.

MY COLLEGE EDUCATION:

I attended Hinds Community College and received an associates degree in 2003. I have a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University (2006) and a master’s degree from Jackson State University(2012).

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

I’ve been teaching math for 16 years. I taught 4th grade at Morton Elementary for 8 years and 5 years at Forest Elementary. I've been back at BMJ in 5th grade for the past 3 years. I’m excited to begin my 17^th year of teaching with your child in my room!

MY ADULTHOOD:

In 2008, I married Daniel Hilson. We have been married 13 years and live in Brandon, MS. We are members of Crossgates Baptist Church. Our daughter Ella was born October 2014. At the age of 2, Ella was diagnosed with Autism. She is currently in therapy and improving daily. In 2020, I was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. After undergoing surgery and chemo, I'm cancer free so far!
